As part of the 2018 "Lacey Loves to Read" community-wide reading initiative, North Thurston Public School students will be sharing their original works of art inspired by the works Newbury Award winning author, Kate DiCamillo. The event will take place at Gabi's Olympic Cards & Comics on Tuesday, March 13th from 6-8 p.m.

The event will take place at Gabi's Olympic Cards & Comics on Tuesday, March 13th from 6-8 p.m. DiCamillo is a Newbury award-winning author. DiCamillo is the author of Because of Winn Dixie, the Magician's Elephant and The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane!
Lacey Loves to Read is a community reading initiative designed to generate the discussion and celebration of a notable author. It includes a bookmark creation contest held district-wide with prizes, short story writing events and more. Each year, a notable children's author visits to share insights with participants on writing and reading.North Thurston Public Schools, Lacey Timberland Regional Library, City of Lacey and Lacey South Sound Chamber are proud to bring you this free, award-winning community literacy program.
