HEATWAVE COSTING ECONOMY BILLIONS IN LOST PRODUCTIVITY

Stifling summer heat waves are not only resulting in soaring energy bills but are also causing significant losses to the U.S. economy, as indicated by recent data. The scorching temperatures, reaching up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit, are hampering productivity across various sectors. Construction crews, farmers, and delivery drivers are slowing down their operations in response to the extreme heat.

In 2020, the economy suffered losses amounting to approximately $100 billion due to heatwaves. However, this year's summer is projected to be even hotter, raising concerns about potentially higher economic costs.
