TARGET CLOSING STORES IN MAJOR CITIES BECAUSE OF THEFT

In a significant move for the retail giant, Target is shuttering nine of its stores in New York City, San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle due to concerns over theft and organized retail crime posing  risks to employees and shoppers. While these closures represent a fraction of the company's 1,900 locations nationwide, the decision underscores growing safety concerns in select urban areas.

Target Ballard location on 15th and Market opened in November 2019 and closes 4 years later.
