Annual Spring Luncheon & Silent Auction
Saturday, May 16 at 11:30 am
Indian Summer, Olympia, WA 98501
The League of Women Voters of Thurston County (LWVTC) will hold its Annual Spring Luncheon on May 16 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at Indian Summer, 5900 Troon Lane SE, Olympia. The luncheon will be preceded by a Silent Auction and Raffle to benefit the LWVTC Education Fund.
The luncheon supports the League’s local nonpartisan educational projects to help citizens become active and informed participants in their communities and government. This includes activities such as voter registration, non-partisan candidate forums, and distribution of The State We’re In: Washington, an exclusive text in English and Spanish for grades 3-5 and 7-12 that focuses on our state’s history, government, and growing diversity.
Karen Crowley, President of the League of Women Voters of Washington State, is our honored speaker this year. Karen has a background in non-profit management and fundraising along with theater and dance. She says, “I am deeply committed to our dual mission of empowering voters and defending democracy. When not creating ‘good trouble’ I delight in carving out time for my garden and the New York Times crossword puzzle.”
Lifetime Citizenship Award: to be announced at the luncheon.
Luncheon tickets are $65. Reserve online HERE or send your check made out to LWVTC to: PO Box 2203 Olympia, WA 98507. Please include your name, phone number, and email.
