Join us for the popular painting experience with formline artist and Tlingit tribal member, Wéidaaká Yóodóohaa (Bill Pfeifer, Jr.). A modern encounter with the ancient world of formline art!
In this immersive painting experience you'll paint your own traditional formline Raven (Yéil)on a beautiful red cedar plank. In Tlingit culture, the Raven is a central, multifaceted figure symbolizing the creator of the world, a cunning trickster, and a bringer of daylight.
As you paint, sounds of traditional village music and running waters will surround you, drawing you closer to both your artwork and the vibrant native art culture around us. Savor a cup of wild herbal tea and smoked fish bites, as Bill teaches and shares his stories, enhancing your connection to the Pacific Northwest. BYOB and outside food is allowed in this experience.
No painting experience is necessary;  all you need is the willingness to explore your inner creativity and embrace the beauty of formline.
