"THE WOLF" A modern encounter with the ancient world of formline art

The popular formline art animal series with artist and Tlingit tribal member, Wéidaaká Yóodóohaa (Bill Pfeifer, Jr.) is now in the city of Olympia!

In this immersive painting experience you'll create your own traditional formline WOLF (g̱ooch, pronounced "gooch") on a beautiful red cedar plank. THE WOLF is a symbol for strength, family loyalty, intelligence, and spiritual power.
In the relaxing environment of the Gasthaus, you'll encounter the rich connections of an ancient art form, which depicts animals, supernatural beings, and figures from oral histories.
As you paint, sounds of traditional village music and cedar aromas will surround you, drawing you closer to both your artwork and the vibrant native art culture surrounding us. Savor a cup of wild herbal tea and smoked fish bites enhancing your connection to the Pacific Northwest.

-BYOB and outside food is allowed in this experience
-This unique paint & sip invites you to explore the visual language of the native peoples of the Northwest Coast of North America.
-No painting experience is necessary; all you need is the willingness to explore your inner creativity and embrace the beauty of formline.
-Join us for a fun & unforgettable painting encounter where art, and PNW native culture come together.
