The Olympia Downtown Alliance has two weeks of Halloween fun planned!

• 2-Week Halloween Scavenger Hunt | October 17 – 31

Halloween fun kicks off early with a two-week quest! Participants can pick up a physical passport or print one online to begin tracking down hidden costumed rubber duckies at participating local shops and restaurants. Collect stickers to complete the passport and submit final entries by 6:00 PM on October 31 for a chance to win local prize packages. • Family-Friendly Trick-or-Treating | October 31, 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

On Halloween afternoon, participating downtown businesses will be ready to greet trick-or-treaters of all ages. Families are invited to dress up and enjoy a safe, walkable downtown adventure while making sweet memories.

• Pet Costume Contest | October 31, 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM (5th Ave & Washington St)

Paws, claws, scales, and tails are welcome! Give your costumed companion their moment in the spotlight at the intersection of 5th Avenue and Washington Street. On-site judges will award 1st- and 2nd-place prizes based on costume creativity and overall crowd enthusiasm. The fun continues through November 2 with online voting to award our “People’s Choice” prize. Spectators are encouraged to cheer on the contestants!

Tumwater Trunk-or-Treatum

Kids Costume Halloween Party

The Yelm Eagles FOE’s Kids Costume Halloween Party is a night of games, music and snacks! They will have a costume contest for scariest and best overall. Parents must accompany children.

Trunk or Treat and Fall Carnival

Rochester Primary School F.A.S.T. is having its trunk-or-treat on October 24. Trick-or-treat in Rochester in the Rochester Primary School parking lot and then head to the Grand Mound Elementary School Gym (7710 James Rd. SW, Rochester) for the Fall Carnival.

No age limit for trick-or-treating, all are welcome! The Fall Carnival will have lots of fun activities for the whole family.

They are currently looking for families, organizations and local businesses interested in hosting a trunk, as well as candy donations to help make the event a success. Interested groups can register through the Rochester Primary School website or email them at rpsfast@gmail.com.

Adult Costume Halloween Charity Party

The Yelm Eagles FOE  is also having its annual Adult Costume Halloween Charity Party!  There will be raffles, music and a costume contest! Indulge in Halloween-themed snacks and a no-host bar. Proceeds go to local families in need during the upcoming holidays. Costume contest awards include most creative, scariest, funniest and couples.

Yelm Recreation STEAM Programming Boo Bash

The Boo Bash at the Yelm Community Center is a free Halloween event for the whole family! There will be Halloween-themed arts and crafts, LEGO building and more. Come in costume and enjoy tricks, treats and fun.

Halloween Hoopla

South Sound Dance is inviting everyone to enjoy its Halloween trunk-or-treat event in Tumwater! They will have games, dancing and lots of candy. All ages are welcome to trick-or-treat.

Moore Design’s Trunk-or-Treat

On Halloween, head to Yelm for the Trunk-or-Treat by Moore Designs. Over 90 parking spots will have decked-out cars for you to trick-or-treat at! Awards for best in show, top 10, sponsor’s choice and kids’ choice will be awarded. Dash plaques will be given to all participants.

Yelm Cinemas Trunk or Treat

Put on your costumes and head to Yelm Cinemas for a fun Trunk-or-Treat on Halloween. There will be over 90 cars with decked-out trunks for your whole family to trick-or-treat at.  If you have a car, join the fun and you may take home a prize for best in show, top 10, sponsor’s choice, or kids choice. All vehicles will get dash plaques. The event is put on by Moore Designs.

Family-Friendly Trick-or-Treating

The Olympia Downtown Alliance is hosting trick-or-treating in downtown Olympia for 2026. Participating stores will be handing out candy. There will also be a pet Halloween costume contest at 5th Avenue and Washington Street. Check in at 5 p.m. Sign up online. Visit the LoveOly website for a map of shops closer to the event.

Woodlawn Trunk or Treat

What’s better than trick-or-treating at a funeral home on Halloween? Head to Lacy for trunk-or-treating at Woodlawn Funeral Home! There are no age limits, so the whole family can enjoy a safe Halloween.

There will be a haunted maze underneath the portico with Five Nights at Freddy’s, Ghostbusters, Killer Clowns and Skeltons, but nothing too scary! No one will be jumping out, there will be someone attending each themed area to hand out candy. 

If you want a sweet treat for right then, there will be a cake pop stand with proceeds going to Family Education & Support Services (FESS). Cake pops will be just $3 each.

First United Methodist Church of Olympia’s Trunk-or-Treat in Olympia will feature Saylor’s Dirty Sodas and Meggie’s Lumpia! There will be games and of course, plenty of treats from 20-plus community partners. No age limit. Red from Red Robin will be there for photo ops too.
